"The reason I keep giving my time to this program is pretty simple. I've seen it work. I love seeing the joy and excitement on the face of a Cub Scout as they catch their very first fish or stick an arrow in the target after 2 years of trying. I've watched a first year Scout squirm and struggle to make eye contact during a board of review, only to sit down with them again a few years later and receive a firm handshake and well thought out answers. I also love that this program is something that the whole family can do together. And for those that don't really have a family? Scouting can give that to them."

"I returned to Scouting when my oldest son was in first grade. He was adamant that he wanted to join Cub Scouts, even when I pushed back some. Since then my whole family has gotten involved and we've shared one terrific experience after another with each other. Each of these opportunities have brought us closer together. We've gotten more involved as we've been able to help others around us and see them grow and experience the same joys we've been afforded."

"Just before our youngest son was old enough to join Cub Scouts, we were losing a lot of leaders. I chose to become an Assistant Cubmaster to help lead our Pack. I wanted to help give our sons a lot of fun experiences and great memories in the Pack. Before long the Pack became part of my family. I love seeing the excitement in the Cub Scouts’ faces when they learn a new skill or complete a project (or even when they laugh at the looks on my face when I have to hold the fish that they caught)."
